2015 Why Choose Law: Diversity Matters Program

The 2015 Why Choose Law: Diversity Matters Program

Please read the following announcement from the Kentucky Bar Association Young Lawyers Division:

The program brings about 20-30 high school students from disadvantaged/underrepresented groups from around the state together to learn more about the legal profession.  Some of the events during the one day program include a mock law school class hosted by the University of Kentucky College of Law and one of its law school professors, a panel discussion with practicing attorneys and judges, an opportunity to tour a law firm as well as the Fayette County Courthouse.  The program lasts from about 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Space is limited as we aim to have between 20-30 students in order to provide a beneficial experience to each student. There is an application process and we have attached the application for the program to this e-mail.  Applications are due by May 1, 2015. We ask that all applications are submitted via e-mail if possible.

The program is completely free to the students (we reimburse mileage and set them up with hotel rooms, if needed depending on how far they are traveling).  The purpose of the program is to encourage diverse high school students to consider law school or an occupation in the legal profession.

Download and email the completed Why Choose Law Application to the email address listed at the end of the application.
