JCTC Scholarships

JCTC logoJefferson Community and Technical College offers numerous scholarships to both new students and currently enrolled students at the College.

To apply, complete the scholarship application and return it to the Jefferson Financial Aid Office on any JCTC Campus.  Please print and complete an application form for each individual scholarship.  All applications must be returned with any requested supporting documentation, such as transcripts, tax information or essays by the application deadline.  Applications are accepted each Spring semester for the following Fall / Spring semesters.  The Deadline each year is March 1.

WKU Dual Credit


This upcoming spring semester WKU Dual Credit will be offering 10 online courses to high school students. 

  1. ART 100 : Art Appreciation
  2. CHEM 101C : Intro to Chemistry
  3. COMM 145 : Fundamentals of Public Speaking
  4. ECON 150 : Intro to Economics
  5. ENGL 100C : Intro to College Writing
  6. HIST 102 : World History II
  7. MATH 109C : General Math
  8. PS 110 : American National Government
  9. PSY 100 : Intro to Psychology
  10. SOCL 100 : Intro to Sociology

We expect these courses to fill; earlier registration is encouraged to increase students’ chances of getting into their desired courses. 

Students must complete the online registration form (http://bit.ly/1vmRbRJ) by January 12. It is important to note that new students must also apply to WKU as a dual credit student (http://bit.ly/1yfsN6O). 

Classes will begin on Monday, January 26, and will end on Friday, May 15. 

The tuition for online courses offered by WKU Dual Credit is $210 ($70/hour for a three hour course). There may be an additional cost for textbooks depending on the course. Additional information can be found on our website (http://bit.ly/12tzqFx). 

Bezos Scholars Program

bezos logoThe Bezos Scholars Program @ the Aspen Institute is a year-long leadership development program for public high school juniors and educators. It begins with a scholarship to attend the Aspen Ideas Festival and continues through the following school year when Bezos Scholar teams return home to launch sustainable, Local Ideas Festivals that transform their schools and communities.

WKU FREE Online Dual Credit Course

WKU_Tall_2cWKU Dual Credit will again be offering UC 100 – College and Career Explorations! This is a one-credit-hour online course that is designed to help students learn more about themselves and possible careers that fit their goals for the future. WKU instructors will work with students to provide feedback to help them prepare for life after high school.

This course is open to high school students of all grades and all academic levels.

There is no cost to students or schools for this course. (Automatic WKU scholarships result in no tuition being charged.)  New students must apply to WKU at wku.edu/dualcredit/apply.  Students must also register at www.wku.edu/dualcredit/registration.

Registration forms must be submitted to the Dual Credit office by Monday, October 6; the course will then begin on Thursday, October 16 and will end on Friday, December 12. Additional information about UC 100 can be found online at wku.edu/dualcredit/online.

KSP Trooper Island Scholarship

Tpr-Isl-LogoCreated in 2008, the program strives to expand the mission of Trooper Island, our boys and girls camp located on Dale Hollow Lake in southeastern Kentucky.  Our hope is to provide scholastic financial support for young people attending a college or technical/vocational school. Although preference will be given to those students who attended Trooper Island Camp, it is open to all who apply.

We expect to award a minimum of four $1,000.00 scholarships; these scholarships will be available for the fall semester of this year.

The deadline for scholarship application submissions for the 2014 program has been extended to April 21, 2014.  The Trooper Island Scholarship Application can be downloaded here.  Completed applications may be sent to:
